Sell your red onions for export.
Farm2Export is signing up Kenyan onion farmers to supply export orders. You are paid the local market price plus a premium on every kilo, by M-Pesa, when you deliver to a drop-off point.
Free to join. It takes one minute on WhatsApp.
Grow other fruit or vegetables? Join too. We will message you when we start buying your produce.

How it works
Join the list
Tell us where you farm and how many acres of onions you have.
We open drop-off points
They open first in the areas where the most farmers have joined.
You see orders and choose
Orders are announced on WhatsApp and in the Farm2Export app. Each one shows the grade, the size and the price. You pledge what you can supply.
You deliver and get paid
Bring your onions to the drop-off point. We grade them there and pay you by M-Pesa.
A small farm can supply too
Export buyers want a full load every month, and most farms cannot fill one alone. Farm2Export groups farmers by area. Each farm delivers in its turn and the order is filled together.

Questions farmers ask
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining the list is free.
I don’t grow onions. Can I join?
Yes. We are buying red onions first. Tell us what you grow, and we will message you on WhatsApp when we start buying your produce.
Is Farm2Export licensed to export?
Yes. Farm2Export is run by a Kenyan company with an export licence. We buy from farmers in Kenya and sell to buyers abroad.
How is the price set?
You are paid the local market price plus a premium on every kilo. The price is on the order before you agree to supply it.
What quality do you buy?
Export grade only (Grade A). The size buyers are asking for now is 55 mm and above. Onions are graded at the drop-off point.
Do you collect from farms?
On “Grow to this order” orders, verified farmers who pledge more than 20 tonnes have their onions collected from the farm. We grade there and pay you at your gate. Everyone else delivers to a drop-off point.
Do I have to sell only to you?
No. You choose which orders to supply.
When does buying start?
We are signing up farmers now. Buying starts in each area when its drop-off point opens, and we will message you on WhatsApp before it does.
